Housing Market Rebounds as Mortgage Rates Drop Below 6% for First Time in Two Years

The US housing market is showing its strongest signs of recovery in two years, with existing home sales rising 8% as mortgage rates fell below 6%.

The NAR reported existing home sales reached 4.3 million units annually. Mortgage applications jumped 22% month-over-month.

“We’re finally seeing the dam break,” said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun.
